Violinist Emlyn Ngai, violist Steve Larson, and cellist Mark Fraser have since 1994 programmed a treasury of chamber music for the intimate combination of their instruments, playing with stylistic vigor and certitude through the centuries Haydn, Beethoven, Ravel, Dohnanyi, Miklos Rosza, and Paul Simon, ultimately honoring Canadian composer Murray Adaskin, the Trio’s namesake. Adding to their spontaneity and charm, guest oboist Tom Gallant, a First Prize Winner of the Concert Artists Guild International New York Competition will appear, displaying his performance style which combines the American and European traditions of oboe playing.
